British Board of Film Classification- Film Ratings

Not all movies are suitable for everyone. Some films have a ‘rating’ which specifies who the film is aimed at in terms of age. Some ratings are higher than others and as well as the rating, the content of the film also changes. If you compare a film rated 12 to a film rated 18, you will also find that the films consist of different factors e.g. an 18 is likely to be more explicit than a film rated ‘12’. In terms of a horror movie, a film rated 18 is likelt to be more extreme in terms of crimes, weapons, blood etc.
